To be a witness

Imagine you are walking through a city where people are dying everywhere of a deadly disease. You go in the convenience store for a pack of gum or something, and even the people at the registers are plagued with this sickness. You are walking around with the only cure in your pocket. You're talking with the cashier whom you know will die soon if they don't get a cure, just like everyone else in this city you're in. You're feeling a little bottle in your pocket, wondering if you should let the cashier know that you happen to have the cure for the disease they're dying of. Should I tell them? What if they get mad at me? What if they don't believe it's the only cure?

Can you imagine someone doing that? Someone who has the only cure for a deadly disease, with full knowledge that the people they are speaking to and are all around them are dying of this disease, wondering whether or not they should tell them? Trying to decide whether or not to save a person's life! They could die in five minutes! They don't have the promise of tomorrow! And yet only two percent of Christians are speaking out. Only two percent of people who hold the only cure to eternal damnation in hell are telling those people who are dying out there that they have the cure.

Not only is it of the utmost importance, but we have been commanded by God to witness to these people. It's not just something you do if you feel like it! Jesus said, "Go into all the world and preach the Gospel to every creature...". What's the first word in that sentence? GO! It is not preceded by 'if you feel like it'. Why not? Because it's not an option! If you have accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, it is your DUTY. Feel uncomfortable? So what! These people will feel much more uncomfortable than you feel right now if they die in their sins. As a Christian, you are an ambassador for the Kingdom of Heaven!

Most of the time, many people don't think about what it means to be a witness for God. What does it mean to be God's ambassador on the earth? Jesus said if we confess His name before men, He would confess our name before His father in heaven. Do you have any idea what that means? Many people dont realize how interconnected we are with the Kingdom of Heaven as believers. Any time and every time you tell someone about Jesus, or invite them to church, or offer to pray for them, Jesus looks to His left, at God Almighty on His throne, and says, "Do you see what Kris is doing? See how faithful he is! He is one in whom God is well-pleased."

Think about it!!! To be spoken of by Him who created all of existence! Him who raises the dead, who rains down fire from heaven! Such great and mighty things He has done, and we know of only a glimpse of all the mighty works of God, and He announces us in Heaven. Every time we step out of our comfort zones and do that which Jesus commanded we do. He commanded us! And yet even though we are commanded to do it, still when we obey we are spoken highly of by God.

But there is even better news. You are not alone. God said He will never leave us nor forsake us. No matter where you are, no matter who you're talking to, God is with you. Wherever you are, the power of God is there! Receive this word! You are the dwelling place of the Holy Spirit. Whenever you enter into a room, the presence of God comes in with you. Isaiah 41:10 says, " Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness."

Do not be ashamed of the Gospel of Christ. I pray for all those who read these words. Lord God, I bind spirits of fear in the name of Jesus Christ. You have not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, of love, and of a sound mind. I pray that anything holding these people back from sharing your word with others be broken. I pray for a fresh outpouring of Your Spirit in these last days, for a boldness to enter these people who seek after you, Lord God, to preach the Gospel of Christ to all the world. That mighty works be done through these saints, for Your will to be done in this place. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Until next time, Praise the name of Jesus Christ.

Very, very good, Kris. I say a double "Amen" to your prayer . . . and I'll forgive you for being late! (But just this once)

Howdy from Nebraska! I'm at my grandparent's farm right now, and am waiting for everyone to get back from checking the cows. I'm enjoying everything, but it's still nice to connect with familiar things back home! Ciao!
